Bde ba can gyi smon lam, an aspiration prayer for rebirth in Sukhāvatī, the pure realm of Amitābha, composed by Tsong kha pa Blo bzang grags pa (1357–1419); 2. Lhag pa'i smon lam, an aspiration prayer for obtaining a precious human rebirth with access to the Buddhist teachings, refraining from non-virtuous actions, liberation from the lower realms, and rebirth in Sukhāvatī, attributed to Nāgārjuna (Klu sgrub); 3. Byams pa'i sku gzugs ma, a reverential petition (gsol 'debs) focused on Maitreya (Byams pa), composed by Dge 'dun grub pa (the First Dalai Lama, 1391–1474); 4. Bde chen lhun grub ma, an aspiration prayer (smon lam) to Maitreya, composed by Dge 'dun rgya mtsho (the Second Dalai Lama, 1476–1542). Provenance: formerly in the collection of Géza Bethlenfalvy. |
